Bison Burger + Grilled Guacamole

12 oz ground grass-fed bison
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp smoked paprika

1. Combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and form into 4 patties. Grill for 5 to 6 minutes, then flip and grill for another 5 to 6 minutes, or until burgers reach an internal temperature of 155°F.

2. To serve, top each patty with 2 tablespoons grilled guacamole (recipe: Healthy Burger Toppings).

Makes 4 servings.
Per serving: 145 cal, 7 g fat (2.5 g sat), 3 g carbs, 90 mg sodium, 1 g fiber, 18 g protein

Skip sugary ketchupwhich packs 1 teaspoon of sugar per tablespoon of ketchup and top your cheeseburger with heart healthy guacamole. What’s more, guacamole is packed with potassium; a natural de-bloater meaning you can enjoy this burger while wearing a bikini fear-free.Serves: 1
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 4 minutesIngredients:
½ ripe avocado, pitted, peeled, and chopped
2 teaspoons white onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons cilantro leaves, chopped
salt and pepper
½ teaspoon jalapeño
1 Body by Bison Burger
1 low fat Monterey Jack cheese slice
1 whole wheat bun
arugula leaves
2 tomato slices

Directions:
In a bowl, combine first 6 ingredients for the guacamole; mix well then set aside.

On a grill or skillet over medium heat, grill the burger for 2 minutes on one side, flip, top with cheese and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until desired doneness. Do not overcook.

Place the burger on the bottom bun then top with arugula, tomato slices, and 2 tablespoons of guacamole.

Cover with the top bun or enjoy as an open-faced burger.
